Our CMS Translation service ensures your CMS enabled website is expertly translated and localised for the benefit of your target audience.
What is CMS translation?
Many companies are moving away from hard-coded websites and are instead using content management systems (CMS) to enable their websites, meaning the need for CMS translation has become more pressing. CMS translation is the process of translating content on a CMS so that a foreign target audience can easily understand and use the interface. This goes beyond literal translation, however, as websites need to be localised so the cultural meaning of words also comes through. This is vital in ensuring the audience can understand the content. Here at Global Voices, we use qualified, experienced linguists who will also be specialists in your sector, ensuring you get the most accurate translation possible.
We provide two different options when it comes to CMS translation. Clients can either give us access to their CMS system so we can directly translate the source text, or alternatively they can extract the source text into an editable file for us to deliver back to them. The first way is the most efficient method, flawlessly integrating translation with a client’s CMS. However, most content management systems easily permit content extraction and we use integrated CAT (computer-aided translation) and memory tools to ensure all our client’s data is preserved and remains consistent.
For WordPress, content can be translated using its translation plugin WPML or by WordPress Multisite. Multisite enables users to manage several independent websites on just one WordPress installation; every site will have its own subdomain for each separate language.

Do I need CMS translation?
With just 28% of internet users having English as their mother tongue, you’re potentially missing 72% of your audience internationally with an English-only website. Considering that your site is one of your main marketing tools, and can often be the first point of contact with customers, it is crucial that it accurately and effectively portrays your brand message.
Connecting with customers with in their own language will help set you apart in the global market, and make customers see you in the same way as a local company. Being able to communicate with multilingual customers is therefore imperative, and it is for these reasons that CMS website translation and localisation is key.
